Vonage Linksys RTP300

There are many different ways available to connect you Vonage Phone adaptors to your current phone and computer system. The best sound quality for your Vonage phone system is by arranging the components according the diagram below. This orientation of your Vonage Digital Phone Filter and your existing router will allow the Vonage Digital Phone Filter to optimize data traffic for the best sound quality.

 Linksys RTP300

The easiest and most common way to connect the Linksys RTP300 phone adaptor (Blue LAN port on left of picture) directly to your Broadband (Cable Modem or DSL mode) and connect your computer or wireless router to the yellow LAN port on the rear of the Linksys RTP300 phone adaptor. If you do not need wireless capability the Linksys RTP300 is the way to go. It has cool blue LED dancing lights that indicate it is working and is small enough to fit in any nook and cranny you would like to mount it in. I used industrial Velcro, but it has four screw slots if you are looking for a more permanent mounting.

Description of connections on back of  Linksys RTP300 Vonage Phone Adaptor

1. Blue Internet Connection port- This attaches directly to your Broadband modem LAN Port
2. Green  Phone 1-Phone 2 Port- In a single line system connect your phone cord to the Phone-1 port A second line or a independent fax  line the secondary line will be attached to the Phone-2 port
3. The four yellow ethernet cable connections allow up to(4)computers to share the wired broadband link. This is where you will plug your computer into to share internet access with the  Linksys RTP300 and the Vonage The BROADBAND phone company's service.
4. The small red button will reset or reboot the Linksys RTP300 phone adaptor as necessary or advised by support personnel. This is also a quick way to implement changes to the Linksys RTP300 phone adaptor from the online feature control panel.
5. The Linksys RTP300  phone adaptor comes with a power supply warning that only that supplied power supply should be used to power the Linksys RTP300  phone adaptor
